What an unforgettable experience for our Grade 6 students at camp! Your time, energy, and care helped create lasting memories. We are also so grateful to our amazing parent volunteers and families for your support in making camp possible. Please help us in congratulating our Divisional Award Winners! St. Mary's School Above and Beyond: Adrien Sikora Adrien is a man who demonstrates great faith. He supports staff in their faith journey’s through his interactions and dedicated prayer time with his team. Adrien prompted an invitational book study with staff to work through ‘Educating for Eternity’ and Adrien organized The Stations of The Cross for staff and students on Fridays in Lent. Adrien is always willing to lend a helping hand frequently jumps in to cover supervision for those who need support and steps up to assist with the weekly grocery delivery in the kitchen. Adrien is humble and kind and always there to lift the spirits of others with his quick wit and gentle concern for those who need it. Adrien chose to recognize one of his students this year for the ‘Honoring Spirit’ Metis award and went above and beyond to ensure that the nomination was written from the heart and with eloquence. St. Mary's School Excellence in Teaching: Nicole Boynton Nicole is an exceptional teacher, transforming the school library into an interactive, faith-filled space where students explore monthly authors, STEM, and Indigenous Culture. Her creativity extends to the community through highly successful Book Fairs that inspire students and parents alike. In the classroom, Nicole maintains a constant pulse on individual needs, supporting students exactly where they are with a joyful, Christ-centered heart. As a valued Ed Council member, she shares assessment strategies that move teacher learning forward and mentors new team members. Nicole shares her passion by modeling coding lessons for colleagues to ensure hands-on technology is accessible to all grades. Always seen with a smile, Nicole’s willingness to team-teach, take the lead or lend a hand, makes her a pillar of professional excellence. St. Mary's School Power of One: Teresa Lynn Teresa demonstrates the power of one in her care and commitment to all. She works tirelessly to support each child academically, socially, and emotionally, approaching her work with patience, compassion, and genuine love. She often gives up her own time to sit with students at lunch, building relationships and supporting their confidence and growth. Teresa uses targeted supports for her groups, is incredibly organized, and helps keep her team on track. Her constant reflection on how to improve learning conditions for students stands out; when supporting a student with mobility needs, she carefully considered seating, classroom movement, accessibility, and inclusion. Teresa brings joy to staff, baking for those in need, creating bulletin boards, and ceramic gnomes! Teresa is a witness living the mission of Catholic Education daily!

We are so grateful for the many, many individuals who give of their time to support us at St. Mary’s. On Friday we had a chance to show our appreciation to our volunteers and we extend our gratitude to those who volunteer but who weren’t able to make it to the Volunteer Appreciation Tea.
