We congratulate our beloved Shona Dobrowolski on being the recipient of the St. John the Apostle Hnorary Life Membership Award! Shona consistently embodied Christ-like servant leadership, always placing students and families at the heart of her work. She creates a safe, loving classroom where every child—especially the most vulnerable—feels seen, supported, and capable of reaching their full potential, often going above and beyond by helping families access community services, ensuring students have food, and offering compassionate support in times of struggle. Guided by her mantra, “what is best for the kids,” Shona served with humility and without seeking recognition. Her leadership extended across the division, where she supported curriculum implementation, served as a divisional lead, and contributed to curriculum development, always collaborating thoughtfully and grounding decisions in student success. Deeply committed to the Catholic community, she participated in service initiatives, mentored new teachers, and offered wisdom and encouragement to colleagues. A reflective and innovative educator, Shona continually refined her practice, lead professional development, and modelled excellence in teaching, leaving a lasting impact on students, staff, and the broader school division.
