St. Mary’s is looking forward to meeting your little ones! Grad 2037 starts this fall at St. Mary’s!
Check out what happens when Mr. Sikora throws a cup of boiling water into the air! This is called the “Mpemba Effect.” Hot water evaporates more quickly than cold water and you can see it evaporate in a cloud of water vapor, coming down like snow! #ScienceRocks #EngagingLearning
Even though our class sizes were small today, we had a lot of fun at St. Mary’s! Our day was filled with a birthday for someone who is nearly as old as the weather is cold, buddies, hot chocolate, gaga ball, and some cool science experiments!
Well it was a blistery, cold one today so we had indoor recess fun. WAIT…what is that I see….students choosing to do MATH for free time fun!
CTR and Southland Transportation have made the rare decision to cancel all buses tomorrow morning and afternoon, Friday, January 12, in Okotoks (including St. Francis), High River, Strathmore, Brooks, Drumheller, and Canmore due to extremely cold temperatures and severe wind chills. Our school will remain open, as many families rely on our facilities. Students and staff driving to school should use extra caution and plan for additional travel time. Please ensure children are dressed appropriately for these extreme conditions. CTR will continue to monitor road and weather conditions. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate these cold temperatures.
Outdoor and indoor learning fun! So wonderful to see all these smiley faces!!
We wish all of our St. Mary’s families a very Merry Christmas! May you rejoice in the birth of our Saviour!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our a Kindergarten Concert! They sang beautifully, sharing the joy of the season with us all!
Look and see who our Grade 1s spotted at St. Mary’s today!
Our STM Staff enjoyed a Christmas social together where we exchanged gifts, purchasing a toy you thought your colleague would have enjoyed when they were little. All of these toys were donated to Magic of Christmas. Sharing in this Spirit of Love and Giving brought great joy and we pray this act of kindness will help to make a bright and merry Christmas for others!
Our halls are bursting with Christmas spirit! Check out this amazing outfit!
Christmas spirit filled St. Mary’s halls! There were so many adorable Christmas Sweaters!
Christmas cheer! Mr. Heembrock’s class was busy decorating Christmas cookies!! Even Mr. Heembrock joined in the fun!! Buddies from Gr. 1 Mrs. Rattee and Gr. 3 Mrs. Tibbits built and decorated Gingerbread Houses. Problem solving, mathematical patterns, symmetry, communication …. so many great skills in this festive fun!
Our Grade 1 and 2 concert, The Little Christmas Traveller, filled us all with Christmas joy as our little stars dazzled us with their performance! Grateful for these precious moments that remind us of the true meaning of Christmas. Thank you parents, relatives, and siblings for joining us and to Mrs. Weber and our Grade 1 and 2 Teachers for a beautiful evening together.
St. Mary’s Little Flower Pre-Kindergarten had their Christmas celebration! The students were adorable and did a wonderful job of spreading joy everywhere!
Congratulations Joanna! We are so excited for you and proud of you! What an honour to have your Christmas card selected!
Congratulations to our Grade 6 Students and Teachers on a great band concert!
YOU NEED TO HEAR THIS STORY that an Educational Assistant shared, as it truly captures the essence of our mission at St. Mary's: I passed a student in the hallway. She looked very sad. I asked her if something was wrong. She replied, “ I’ve lost my bracelet. I left it on the ledge in the bathroom and it’s not there.” We looked in the lost and found, but we could not find it. I said to her maybe someone picked it up, but didn’t put it in the lost and found, and she replied. ”but that’s not The St. Mary’s Way.” We looked in the lost and found once again, and there was the bracelet hanging on the rack. She looked up and gave me a smile and said, “That’s The St Mary's Way!” His goodness and beauty are shining in our students!
